Question:
I have a hernia and my surgeon

I went to see my surgeon and he said my hernia was small but needed to come out. He also said that he could have an adominalplasty done at the same time. Will insurance pay for this more readily than if they were done seperately? I am nervous about the surgery. Do they have to go deep in your stomach again to remove a hernia? He also said he could make my scar smaller. Does a tummy tuck hurt bad? I mean I know the gastric bypass was major, but I seem to be more nervous about this. I don't know why. I know this is a lot of questions and I appreciate anyone who has had this done to let me know how it went. Thanks.    — taterbug898 (posted on April 19, 2006)

they dont remove a hernia they repair it. it is a tear in the lining that is between the skin and your organs inside. (from the best of my knowledge) I hav not had any plastic surgery yet but if the doc says to go for it then do it i would say. i know its hard to get some insurances to cover it so this may be your chance. best of luck to you

TT and hernia repair are done at the same time and usually it is covered by the insurance company. It does not hurt and it does heel fast. You would look awesome and all the extra hanging skin will be gone. you will have a flat stomach and you will be a size or two smaller at the end. I had my TT and hernia repair in 1999 and I look good. I am very happy about my TT I would like to do more PS. I look good I just want to look better I am obcessed with MOI. Dani

I kow all ppl are different but my WLS I did not have any pain and never did even get pain meds filled Dr gave me. Now my TT hernia repair was wayyyyy different it was themost painful operation I have ever had and I have had several operations. The hernia also had to be repaired a 2nd time cause it came lose after about 1 yr so had to go through all that pain again. It was worth it the results I got nice flat tummy. I do still have 2 lil dog ears as they call it and they are lop sided ...lol but it does not bother my hubby and no one sees them and I will never be in public with something on to show them. I just hope thi hernia repair holds thistime I do not want to have it again if I do I will be having a different Dr repair it this time. Take Care Huggggsss Beth
