I only do one shake a day now, but this is what I do: I take 8 oz of Soy Slender Cappuccino Soy Milk, and heat it to HOT but not boiling in the microwave. Call it 2 and a half minutes. While this is heating I take one scoop of Body Fortress Chocolate Protein and mix it with a couple of ounce of water until smooth. Then I combine the two. HOT MOCHA! YUM! Body Fortress is available at Walmart, it's 23 gms of protein per scoop and like 14 bucks for a huge jar. It comes in vanilla and chocolate. Vanilla you can flavor into anything else. My shake has a total of 30 gms of protein and 170 calories. Good Luck!!

I use the Bariatrix shakes. The website is www.bariatrix.com. You can order them through me if interested. I can send you a brochure. They have fruit flavored drinks, soups and so much more. If there is anything on the website you are interested in...let me know.

EAS Premium Protein (A Soy Isolate and Whey blend) Good for lactose intolerance. 140 calories 2.5 g fat 3 carbs 2 sugars 27 g protein Each serving has 18 amino acids I hate all whey...This blend is quite good. Much easier on my stomach too.

I don't use protein drinks, because of bloating and taste. I use protein capsules. They're called Capsul-Pro and you can get them at www.nashuanutrition.com You might try them out. Good luck!

Hi Jennifer- fr nearly 4 years I have used Natures Best Isopure Chocolate protein - I get it ijn the 7.5 lb tubs on line-better buy. Far as I am concerned, its the bomb- each scoop us 25 grams protein, i mix 2 scoops in a rubbermaid container ( drinking container ) and add in 8-12 oz Hood Carb Countdown chocolate milk, shake the bejeevers out of it and voila, the best tasting, thickest shake this side of surgery :) I still have 2 shakes a day because my body numbers require me to intake approx 110-125 grams protein a day, and i cannot get in that much on the 3 half cups of food I am allowed a day- even almost 4 years post op. Now, if you want a change up on the mix, pour in some de vinvi's flavored syrups like almomd, vanilla, coffee, even boysenberry in choc is wonderful. Anyway i GET MY isopure from Allsetarhealth.com, it is 60 something for the 7.5 lb tub- at the GNC the same tub costs over 80 bucks, i would rather have it delivered and save the cash. The Isopure is the only product i have written about in my journal- try it, if you like a thick yummy malt-milkshake, you cannot go wrong with this product. Hang in there, everyones tastes are different, but I feel sure if you love chocolate, you will enjoy this. Natures best also makes strawberry, vanilla, peaches and cream etc. I used to get all of them, but know for me chocolate is my favorite-even before surgery. Cindi- 3.24.04 - 230# and holding

Depends on everything. GNC carries 2 that I like. Anywhey tasteless protein powder (only about 95% tasteless but tastes great in crystal light), and Designer Whey in the pomigranite flavor as a treat once a week. Both are expensive though. Body Fortress found at almost any super market and wal-mart can not usually be tolerated if mixed with milk by most, however, mix it with water and it's much better. That's what I use when I need the protein powder. I don't need it as much anymore thank goodness! I get most of my protein from my food. (just over 11 months out). Good luck and God bless!

I was told the drinks have too much sugar not to drink them. I may have mis-understood the Dr. but I am fine without. I just rely on the protien in the meats etc, Chicken, Fish etc.

Hello, Most protein shakes are gross; but in my opinion anything made with a soy protein is even worse. I use Body Fortress which I get from Wal-Mart, costs about $12. It is a whey protein and tastes SO much better that soy. Still not the greatest, but much better. A couple of teaspoons of Splenda go a long way to making it taste better, too. Serving size: 1 scoops Cals: 115 Protein: 23 gr Carbs: 4 grams + < 1 gram for each tsp of Splenda Maybe you can gradually decrease the Splenda as you hopefully adapt to the taste. CT

I just use the Slim-fast "low carb" drink. 20 grams compared to even the supposed "high protein" slim-fast, which only has 15 grams. The taste is good, carbs and sugar are low. Taste is definately a factor for me- If I don't like it, I won't drink it.

Ok, so I have been on the hunt for the best protein shake out there. Dr. Geiss recommends Medifast, but it is just so expensive at over $2.00 a shake. I was looking for something that tastes great, is moderately priced, and has less than 150 calories, over 20g of protein, and less than 3g of fat. I have been reading the daily Q&A e-mail from this website and a lot of people have been asking about protein shakes so I got a lot of ideas from those posts. Thank you to whoever answered them. Medifast- Ready to Go, 90 calories, 1.5g of fat, 11g of protein. It tastes great but there is barely enough protein. PRICE:$2.75 Designer Whey- Powder, 100 calories, 2g of fat, 18g of protein. Chocolate flavor is ok. Better with milk and Ice in a blender than just water. Strawberry flavor has an awful after taste no matter how you make it. PRICE:$.65 Syntrax Nectar- Powder, 90 Calories, 0g of fat, 23g of protein. Caribbean Cooler flavor tastes like a watered down Pina Colada. Slight after taste, but not unbearable. Made with Milk it is really good!! PRICE:$.61 BSN Lean Dessert Proten Shake- Powder, 130 calories, 3g of fat, 20g of protein. Chocolate Fudge Pudding flavor is by far the best tasting protein shake I have had so far. Even though it has a few more calories than the others it is worth it. No after taste. PRICE:$.88

I Hated all of then until I found a product named Nectar (Fuzzy Navel flavor). I mix it with water and a To Go Crystal Light Lemonade packet. It tastes like orange juice. It dissolves easily and has only 45 calories for 25 g. protein. I ordered it on the internet and had it in two days. Good Luck! Pat

I like Slim Fast's High Protien drink. I have only tried vanilla and chocolate but I think they have strawberry, too. It has 15 grams of protien. Good luck!
