Does anyone know of an insurance in Florida that I can join now that I am postop?

I am in florida, my ompany just changed from Cigna (which approved me for
surgery) to Aetna ( where they didnt pick up the rider for) bbut I believe
its still an option you can have with aetna. I suggest calling them and
check it out

of concern is why u lost your insurance, did you loose your employement
over your absence for this illness. if so you may have been violated of
your fmla rights, both state and federal. you have cobra rights to see you
thru recovery, and with group coverage prexisting conditions are not
excluded such as this surgery and its coplications should any arrise.

I live in Fl also and last October went in search of individual coverage
due to a HUGE increase in premiums at my hubby's job. I called UHC, BCBS,
Humana, and contacted a broker. I am uninsurable due to the gastric
bypass. There was one company(don't remember who) that was willing to
cover me so long as I was 4 years post ANY complication and the policy
would exclude anything to do with my digestive system for life. Of course
this plan was crappy and cost a fortune. Needless to say, we still have
coverage at my hubby's job @ a rate of 1000. per month for just he and I.
You can not be denied group coverage leagally, your best bet is to find
other employment.
