Valerie, Anytime you start working out you gain muscle mass. Muscle weighs more than fat. If you continue working out you will start to loose weight again.

Muscle does NOT weigh more than fat. Common misconception! 1 lb of muscle weighs as much as 1 lb of fat! Muscle is more dense, and takes up less space, whereas fat is bulky and holds water and takes up more space. What's happening is you are gaining muscle mass. This is totally common. Keep working out as you NEED the muscle to help keep/get your metabolism going even while at rest. Just make sure you don't weigh yourself everyday. Women do hold water, at different times each month. You WILL lose weight if you keep working out. Good luck and God Bless!

JUST AS THE 1ST REPLY STATED OUR BODIES HOLD DIFFERENT AMOUNTS OF WATER @ DIFFERENT TIMES OF THE MONTH. YOUR WEIGHT CAN FLUCTUATE 2-5 LBS IN EITHER DIRECTION PER DAY, DON'T BE DISCOURAGED AND DON'T WEIGH EVERY DAY. ALSO I WOULD SUGGEST YOU PICK 1 DAY EVERY WEEK OR 2 AND DO MEASUREMENTS, YOU MAY BE LOSING INCHES AND JUST ARE NOT NOTICING IT YET. IF YOU ARE FOLLOWING YOUR PROTEIN & WATER INTAKE GUIDELINES SET MY YOUR DOCTORS OFFICE/NUTRITIONIST...YOU WILL NOT FAIL AND EXERCISING WILL ONLY INCREASE YOUR RESULTS BEST OF LUCK TO YOU~TIFFANY

Valerie, Not to worry about the 2 lbs. You can be 2 lbs. up today and 5 lbs down tomorrow. During my first month I noticed that if I worked out one day and off 2 days I'd drop a couple of pounds. I also realized I couldn't work out every day because it wold take me 2 days to recover. Now I can work out everyday and not be exhausted for 2 days -- I usually take off on Saturday and Sunday. Don't panic if you see a pound here or there -- it will quickly go away. Just keep up your regiment of whatever it is you're doing now and vary your workout routine so your body doesn't get used to the process -- it will be immuned to the same routine day in and day out.

When I started to work out more, I plateaued until my body realized what the hell I was doing and was like - oh...ok...I get it. Took a few weeks, then started losing again.
