Question:
hospital stay
Can someone please let me know what type of these that i will need for me trip to the hospital for my surgery. — tmparker (posted on April 18, 2009)

I'm sorry.... but your question seems to be incomplete.... what type of
WHAT will you need for the hospital stay?

Just bring things that might make you feel comfortable. The hospital
usually provides anything you might need...My visitors brought me magazines
and I passed them along to others who had no visitors...You are only in the
hospital a few days...But there are a few things that I was sooooo glad to
have...Lip balm, my own femine products from home (hospital pads are so
huge, you cannot even believe it!) I got my period during surgery...My
luck! I had my own favorite scented body lotion for that nice clean smell
that reminded me that I was still me! LOL (I really didn't feel like me at
all, so that was a huge comfort to me, as silly as that seems!)...And my
own Pjs and robe so my butt was not poking out and giving everyone a show
as I did my walking around...I also brought my journal and some writing
paper (didn't use it much)...and some crystal lite to add to water for a
change of flavor...I cannot drink water from some places if it tastes too
metallic or like chlorine! YUCK! So I was glad to have a few packets of
SF flavor for water! I had a few other personal things...Just think of
things that you use daily to get you thru the day...or thru boring
days...It's over before you know it! I spent a lot of time medicating
myself into frequent naps...and walking...visiting with family or others on
the floor and the time went really fast. Didn't really need much of
anything. They brought me glycerine swabs for dry mouth and saline mist for
my nose! I don't usually have to have those sort of things... The hospital
was soooo dry. So moisture of any kind was very useful!

having the RNY.

I brought my own pillow besides the other things mentioned.
