We discussed this last night at our gastric weight loss meeting. Are you eating a lot of carbs and if you are are they simple carbs? Are you getting the proper amount of protein? What about exercise? Hang in there, it will come off.

Stay off the scales! This is going to happen - it happens to everybody. If you are doing all the right things - eating protein, drinking a lot of water, exercising - you will lose the weight. People become obsessed with the number on the scale. I don't even own a scale and never get weighed until I go to the doctor. believe me, it's more fun to see 35 lbs drop than it is to see 1 lb. Good luck. You are doing fine. Don't stress yourself over the numbers!

Maureen is right the more you worry about your weight the harder it is to loose. Stay off the scale and eat right, exercise and you will do fine.

Congradulations on losing so much weight!!!!Almost 100 lbs in 6 months is phenominal. One thing to consider is your body is re-adjusting itself and is perfectly normal. Keep up the good work with the protein, water, and excercise.

Hi Malynda, I know totally what you mean. I had RNY on Oct 2009. Right now I am only 43 lbs away from my goal!! EEK!! I'm so excited. But this last few weeks I've experienced the same thing. I'm not worried though because I know this is going to happen especially when you get closer and closer to your goal. The weight seems to take a bit longer to come off. It happens to all of us without question. And if you're like me, even though I know it's not a good idea to weigh daily, I still do. I can't help it. But in the time that's passed I now know what to expect from the scale. I had stalled at my current weight now for 3 weeks and just this past week I suddenly dropped 5 lbs without changing what I was normally doing!! It was utterly amazing but I knew I was eating right, exercising, and drinking my fluids. Yes the stalls will come but you will pass them as well. So if you weigh often, as I do, expect the stalls because the scale is not often telling the whole truth. By all means measure, measure, measure! I've not only lost over 177 lbs but also have lost a little over 54.75 inches!! So you see, not all success is told on the scales. Also, as other posters have said, be easy on your body. Give it time to "catch up" with all you're doing with it. Right now I'm having a bit of a problem with hypoglycemia. So I adjust as necessary but I know my body will soon "catch up" to what I'm telling it to do. We all just need to give ourselves time. So congrats on all you've done. I'll bet you feel so much better, more so than ever before! Way to go! Keep up the good work and measure! Prayers and hugs for your continued success, Sandy C.
