Question:
Can anyone tell me if Hoodia Complete is safe to take?

I know I'm falling back into the same ol' trap, but I need a kickstart. I'm almost 4 yrs post-op and have gained 65 of my 95 lbs back. I took hoodia complete (appitite suppresant and chromium energy booster) for two days ( one pill each) and it did really help. I called my clinic and of course the wouldn't "recommend it". They wanted me to come in for a visit. I wasn't looking for them to "recommend" it, I just want to know if it's SAFE so I can make my own informed decision. Can anyone tell me if Hoodia Complete is saft post-op? Thanks!!!    — dozzee (posted on June 27, 2006)

I am not sure about the safety of it, but a friend of mine who has not had WLS was taking it and gained about 10 pounds. I know your frustration and am also looking for a solution because I have gained about 25 pounds of the 100 I have lost and I am about 3 years out. Good Luck. Mindy

If they can't recommend it, how in the world do you expect them to tell you it's safe. If they are medical facility and tell you it's safe and then you get sick, they can be held liable since anything they tell you can be considered medical advise! My suggestion is to go back to the basics, prior to surgery. Put yourself on a clear liquids diet for a few days to get that jump start or better yet, get out the weight watchers book and keep yourself between 18-22 points per day. Seriously folks, if you want to eat normal food and still be satisfied and not feel the need to binge because you have not had anything you love, go with weight watchers. You can have almost anything you like, just in moderation. That includes carbs and fat.........you just have to be honest with yourself. I always try to picture myself doing and looking the way I really want, but sometimes, I have to picture myself fat and almost 300 pounds and that negative reinforcement is sometimes the kick in the ass I need. That and looking at other fat people and knowing that was and still could be me if I don't "follow the rules". Is it fair? Hell no. Do I resent skinny people who can eat whatever they want whenever they want? You bet your a** I do. BUT, it does no good to lament over it. SO, look at yourself in the mirror and be honest. You LIKE being fat.......keep on keeping on. If NOT, then do something for yourself that you would advise a good friend to do. Be your own best friend and follow your own advice! Jmho, of course. Good luck!

I don't know about Hoodia but if you're wanting help in losing, my brother has been using Herbalife for the past 4 months and has lost 40 pounds so far. He's gone from 285 to 234 so far.

The only thing you will lose is money. From what I have read, the hoodia that actually works, is not yet allowed to be imported into the US, and there are no tests done to see if this hoodia will work as a dried product. You can bet there are pharmaceutical companies out there trying to figure out what causes the anorexia and then synthesize that. For now, what you can buy is a waste.

I gained 30# of the 100 I lost, I went to Weight Watchers with my hubby and I have lost 24# of the 30 and he lost 44#. I needed the well balanced eating plan, I have cut out white carbs and most fat out of my diet and feel so much better because I can fit back into some of the clothes I bought when I was thinner. Angie ps they didn't know I had wls.

Susan K is right about hoodia. It is a cactus found in the African jungle somewhere, and Phizer Drug Corp. has it all sewn up as far as research and distribution goes. It is not on anybody's market as yet, and anyone advertising that they have Hoodia for sale is scamming the general public. I have seen it advertised in several companies selling supplements and vitamins which makes me question their other products also. Hoodia will be available one day but not in the near future. Type Hoodia in your search bar and you will get a host of information on the subject. Is it safe? the navites cook it over an open fire and eat it when they are out hunting to keep them from getting hungry and eating all the game before they get home. they are all thin.
