Question:
I have have lost little to no weight for a while.....HELP

Hello, I had my surgery on March 7, 2008 (RNY). I started at 277 and I am now down to 208. My first goal is to be under 200. I am nine pounds away from being 199# and it's been so difficult. I walk 6 blocks 4 times a week. I exercise at the gym 4 times a week. I am stuck at 208 or close to it. Check out my weight tracker if you have a moment. Any suggestions out there. HELP!    — sagarmy (posted on August 29, 2008)

I had my surgery done March 12, 2008. I have gone thru so many periods of no weight loss. Have been in one for almost a month now. Finally starting to loose a little now. Hang in there. I KNOW it gets frustrating! But I guess as we near the end of our weight loss ... the weight falls off much slower. :(

Youre doing fine! You will be under that 200 mark very soon! Your numbers seem to be right on schedule! Don't give up....You keep on track and watch your simple carbs...make certain that each meal you eat has mostly protein and your snacks should be too right now. Protein builds muscle...and muscle burns fat....Fat is stored from carbs that you don't burn thru exercise....You want to burn fat as your fuel to lose calories...so the less carbs you eat right now (the first year)...the more fat you burn rather than store it! Keep that in mind when you eat and exercise! Later, once you lose the majority of your weight, you can eat more complex carbs and maintain your weight...and still be happy with food and diet!

Dearest Yolanda; We all went through what you're feeling now. I actually went to my doctor complaining about my "LACK" of progress. The doctor shouted, "Do you know of any other person who has lost 70 pounds in the last few months? Have you been able to lose this much before? Stop worrying. The rest will come. Enjoy this period." I took his advice. Start keeping a diary on how you feel. Make a list of all things that you hope to be gone by your WLS anniversary date. I did this & boy, I'm amazed at the difference a year makes. You are doing so well to exercise every day!!! Watch your diet to stick with all your doctor's recommendations. Trust me, you will lose the rest. You have such wonderful results so far, don't give - up now that you are probably almost through this plateu. If you have made "some" bad food choices, don't just give - up, start again, TODAY. May God bless you & keep you.

Change your routine... your body is used to what you've been doing... so do something different in the way of exercise.
