If your are following all the guidelines from your doc like drinking your water, getting your protein, exercising etc. then you are doing great. Good grief that's about 15 pounds a month. Congratulations and hang in there. You're doing great!

I would kill for that kind of weight loss. I am 5 months out with the Lap Band and I have only lost 20 lbs. I am stuck on a plateau and just hate it. I have purchased a gym pass and am doing 3-4 miles a day. If the weight still doesn't come off then I have to go to an endocrinologist and have my thyroid checked. It was not working before surgery. hang in there and that weight loss is awesome. Susan

I am two months out as of 11-16-08. I have lost 39 lbs thus far. The thing that worries me is that it was lost in the first 6 weeks primarily. I don't know if this is the same thing that's been goin' on with you, but... There's so many different aspects you have to take into consideration. How heavy were you to begin with? Which surgery did you have? How's your eating, your protein, your water intake? This will all make a drastic difference! If you're anything like me at this stage you're so afraid of failing at this. I know I am! Every other weight loss venture I've ensued has been nothing but failures, we're used to that feeling of being let down! I'm sure there are some people who don't loose as much as the norm, but they're pretty few and far between. Your odds of loosing a good amount of weight are very good, we can't help but worry about it though!

You are doing great. Remember you didn't gain all your weight in one day and it will take time to come off. Good luck.

I'm going to make this VERY easy for you. When was the last time you lost over 30lbs in just over 2 months?? If you can answer that with an actual date and time, then you didn't need the surgery to begin with. If there is no answer, then you must be doing well. Right?? Keep looking on the good side. You wouldn't even be this far without the surgery. Be thankful, and work your tool. Enough said. (I hope)

Wow that is awesome! Hang in there! You will get off that plateau. I am a month post op and have hit a brick wall no weight loss for a week. But I have been walking ALOT so hopefully it is just muscle building. Good luck! Stay with it!

I had my surgery 6-30-08 . Have lost 53 lbs. Lap band surgery. I have had 3 plateaus. They last about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks each and then I start losing again. Don't worry. Just be patient through those periods because your body is telling you it is trying to hold onto some of the weight. Good luck
