Question:
What procudre can you have if 8 yrs after surgery you've gained weight back?

I had the RYN gastric bypass 8 yrs ago. I have regained about 50 lbs and it depresses me greatly. Is the lap band or other options available to me?    — Chancess (posted on April 24, 2010)

One possible option is "Sclerotherapy". Read this: http://www.grandhealthpartners.com/default/surgical-weightloss/sclerotherapy . Chip

It can be. It depends on some different factors. I would talk to your previous surgeon about it, or if insurance is a factor your primary care physician. Good luck!

Check on a revision of the surgery, they make your pouch smaller and also take in the stoma if it has enlarged. Don't try any surgeries if they go through your mouth, they just don't work but cost quite a bit.

I had surgery 8 yrs ago open RNY I got pregnant 9months out and didn't get under 170. 4 yrs after I had gained about 10-15lbs so I did have Sclero through Dr. Baker. I got back down to 170 but after about 8 months I didn't have the restriction feeling. Another baby and then 6 yrs post op I had it done a second time. I didn't get down past 170 but maintained around 175 until this last year. Now I am up to 213 and looking for options. I have an appointment with Baker with Grand Health Partners but don't know if he will be willing to fine tune my tool. The stomaphyx people say doesn't work. Opening up my previous "open rny scar" is a great fear as it was 3 weeks of hell. Scelero works to get back on track but it isn't a difinitive fix.
