Question:
Is there a Support group in Montgomery AL or the nearby area?

I know that there is one in Birmingham and I want to try and attend some meetings but since it is about 1.5 hours away, I am interested in seeing if there is a support group nearer to home.    — Daphne S. (posted on January 23, 2002)

There is an excellent support group right outside Montgomery (Deatsville I think). The leader of the group is Jan Boulain and you can get her email address from her profile page. This group has grown very quickly and includes a clothing exchange as well as many other activities. Good luck.

Jan Boulian has a wonderful wls group in Deatsville, I have not been in a while because I have done lots of traveling this year. But I may be able to make this months meeting. Look her up.

There is INDEED a support in Montgomery! It met last on Saturday, October 12 and has not yet scheduled the next meeting, although it does meet about every 6 weeks. It meets at Jackson Hospital in a conference room and is fantastic. You can email me and as soon as I hear about the next meeting I will let you know. I think it is going to be in early December.
