Question:
Please answer this survey regarding protein shakes

I know there are lots and lots of posts on this subject. And yes, I have gone to vitalady and ordered samples of shakes. The problem as I have heard from so many posters is that what tastes good pre-op might be horrendous post-op. I want to buy one brand of vanilla that I can mix with a little fruit or s/f flavoring. My surgeon requires shakes immediately after surgery so I want to be prepared. So here is the survey question..... What is the best tasting vanilla shake that can be mixed with fruit and or s/f flavoring??    — Joanie J. (posted on June 17, 2002)

Sorry but you're just gonna have to taste and tweak until you find something you like personally. You'll find that what you like someone else may hate. Good luck and God Bless!

Ditto on what the previous poster said, gotta find what you like. My fave is Ultra Whey, and you can mix it w/SF pudding or nonfat yogurt for a creamy treat.

Isopure zero carb vanilla-found in GNC, Vitamin shoppes. Remember that everyones taste is different, even after surgery, so your better off with the samples until you find one that you like.

My personal fav is ProBlend Vanilla, but as a previous poster said, try adding 1-2 Tbs. SF FF pudding mix (any flavor) for a creamier milkshake-like taste. Also, the SF syrups are awesome for different flavors.

I really like the Designer Whey Protein in vanilla (and generally everything tastes gross to me). I bought fresh strawberries at the Farmer's Market yesterday and threw 3 in there with a scoop and skim milk, and a few ice cubes. Very refreshing! It's good plain, too. You can put just about anything into it and it still tastes good. You can get it at GNC. Hugs, Joy

American Whey (I buy it at GNC) is great and economical at $29.99 for the 3 lb. can (42 servings) or the 10 lb. pail at about $80. If you get a Gold Card ($20 a year) you can get 20% off the first week of the month.

Samples samples samples. You will not know what tastes good to you till you try it. To me, they all taste like crap. I got the flavorless ones from vitalady and mix it with milk, ice and whatever I have laying around that sounds good. I also got a sample of Isopure from GNC in chocolate and vanilla. I have not yet tried the vanilla, but the chocolate isnt bad, but then again.....i mix it with everything under the sun.

Hi ~ I've posted my recipe about 200 times for a protein shake / coffee drink (vanilla flavored) that I make daily to get a lot of protein in with a good taste. I won't bore the entire board again with the ingredients but if for some reason you missed it - email me and I'll send it to you. :) Good luck.
