Question:
I am 1 week post op and wondered what everyone else 1 week post op ate/drank?

I am getting bored with Carnation Instant Breakfast and Isopure Protein drinks are awful, Does anyone have any suggestions? I am craving fruity flavors    — beachdog (posted on April 15, 2003)

I am 2 weeks post op and towards the end of the 1st week I started having thicker soups like tomato, cream of mushroom, instant cream of wheat, etc. Eat some sugar free pudding if your Dr. allows.

Edy's Whole Fruit Bars No Sugar Added or Breyer's Fruit bars No sugar added. All the others, I think, are ice pops and stink! Send someone to the store now!! Best of luck to you!

I could be considered "bad" by some on this board, however, I was allowed scrambled eggs, cheese grits, mashed potatoes, and milk. For my protein drink which I started on in week 2, I found EAS Advantage Whey Protein (found at Walmart for $8.47). I use only a half scoop and double the milk (8 oz)and it is palatable and I get 18 grams in one sitting. I tried so many protein drinks and abhorred them all. Goodluck!

I lived on instant grits with strained cream of mushroom soup. There were so many sweet things - sf/ff yogurt, sf jello, sf popsicles, baby food fruit (stage 1). You can get plain yogurt and mix in a tsp of baby food fruit to make your own.

Try the Nectar proteins, they are fruity, have 23g protein, 0 carbs, 0 sugar. Taste is GREAT!!!
