Question:
I know everyone asks this but I am worried about only losing this amount(open RNY 7-8

Should I be worried. I excercise for 40 minutes about every other day if not daily, am getting my water and protein.    — Amy G. (posted on August 25, 2003)

Hi, Like me, you are considered a lightweight. At my 6 week post-op appointment, I had lost 28 pounds. Now at 10+ weeks post-op, I'm down about 44 pounds. I sometimes get very frustrated because, like everybody else, I want it to fall off faster, but I just keep reminding myself that it will come off in it's own time. Be patient...as long as you follow your surgeons program, you will do well.

I don;t think you should stress too much over it. I will be 10 weeks out on tommorrow. As of last thursday I had lost 30 pounds. If you are consistently losing the surgery is working.Keep doing what you are doing

Go to the library (link at the top of this page) and search the post-op weight issues-lots and lots of people have asked this and it should make you feel better. Everyone looses at their own rate, and as long as you are following the rules, getting in your water and protein, so will you.

Hi Amy, im 6 months post-op today and im down 70lbs. Im considered a lightweight. I wanted to lose 100lbs by 6 mnths but it didn't happen so i deal with it. I started at 260lbs. My dr said to me today that im a success story and i should be at my goal weigh in 3 months. It will come off just go by the rules, get protein, water, exercise. It is better to lose it slowly because u won't have much saggy skin. Good luck to u 260/190/160

Technically you are in the average range, the low average, but not doing badly by any means. 2 months average weight loss is 27-44 pounds.

I'm seven weeks out and have lost 21 lbs. You're 4 lbs. ahead of me. I don't think 25 lbs. is bad at all.
