Question:
Need help and advise!

I have just been approved by the insurance company to undergo a Long Limb Gastric Bypass revision. The Surgeon, Dr. Kellum at the Medical College of Virginia who did my gastric bypass three years ago wants to go back in and basically move the connection further down the line. I know vitamin intake would be crucial at this point. I have had quite a history with my wieght loss struggle and I really need to hear from others who may have had to undergo this extreme distal revison. How have you done? Was the surgery less invasive or as long? Complication? What has your wieght loss been like? Any regrets? I need help and advise and have researched and researched and I know there are patients who have done this and I need to talk to you. Thank you!    — Sarah B. (posted on October 22, 2003)

Sarah, one of the most distal people I know is [email protected]. She stays on top of the nutritional issues by supplementing with several protein shakes a day along with a regiment of vitamins. You may want to contact her directly for more info...
