I had a two month stall, myself... The only thing that got that scale going again was for me to get on my mountain bike and start riding at least one hour a day. I have lost an average of one pound per day since I started doing this three weeks ago. Paula

Laurie...I wasn't able to do any walking because of injuries sustained in a fall several years ago. I wasn't financially able to join a gym for a little while, but am doing very well now that I have. But, in the interim, since I couldn't walk, I'd put some good music on and dance for 30 minutes in my room. Because of my injuries (herniated disc and fractured hip), I couldn't always last 30 minutes on my feet. When my feet started to hurt really bad or my legs, I'd sit on my bed and do upper body exercise (dancing while sitting) until I felt I could stand back up and do my legs again. Most times, I would end up doing 10 minutes or sometimes 15, and then sit the last 15 minutes. But that actually did help me a lot. The main thing is to keep moving. When I was doing just the dancing, I'd do it three times a day, usually a few minutes after eating. I always timed myself and did 30 minutes, regardless of whether it was always standing or half standing, half sitting. Hope this helps...good luck and God bless.

Laurie, if you have a VCR, you could get some workout tapes. Libraries may allow you to borrow them for free or for a small fee if you don't want to purchase them. Do you own a bike? Do you live in an area that you could go for walks outside or go to the local high school track and walk? Good luck.

You have to find the time to exercise and i know it can be very difficult. Even if its just 30 minutes a few times a week, try to work it in. I bought a treadmill and put in in front of the tv which I get on while watching the nightly news or entertainment tonight. That 30 minutes goes by fast. Get on the floor and do your abdominal exercises-can take 5 minutes. Buy a set of 5 or 10 pound hand weights and you can get a great upper body strengthening workout. And at work or home, find the stairs and climb up and down for 15 minutes-now thats a workout!!
