Question:
Has anyone ever been told that they need to eat more...

I was told by my surgeon that I need to eat more...I have NEVER been told that before in my life. She also said that I have to eat to lose....is that true?    — PHA STAR (posted on July 12, 2005)

Yes, that is right. If you don't have enough calories, your body goes into "starvation mode". it will think it is not going to get any more food so it holds on to what it has. Up your food intake( the right things of course) to lose.

I agree with Delores. And to emphasize further what she said, eating more helps you get the nutrition you need. Eating regularly (not going more than six hours without food) will also stabilize your blood sugar and your insulin levels.

Yes this you more in oder to lose weight, of course eat all the right things

Totally true, I was not eating/drinking correctly and stayed at the same weight for three-four weeks. Started eating regularly/drinking the amounts and lost five pounds in two days. It does work, so now even though I may have to force myself to eat something, I'm still losing. (RNY 12/17/04 -92 pounds)

It is very very true. When I don't eat often I don't lose weight. It just has to be a fact of our lives now that we eat constantly. Just make sure it is the right stuff and the right portions. Good luck! Cindy Heath

I can relate to this. I am actually underweight at this point. Never thought I would hear the words from doctor to stop losing weight. With that said, my surgeon told me many times that to lose weight I had to eat more. YES it is true. I have found through my WLS journey that my food that I eat needs to be re-examined at different phases as my body changes.

Ok, I keep hearing that we need to eat more. I am 2yrs and 1 month out and still get full after 3 or 4 bites and I eat all day. Could it be that I'm eating the wrong foods? Can some one give me some examples of what you are eating on a daily basic? I have not lost wt in since Nov,2004 and would love to lose at least 20 to 25 lbs. I just started back exercising this week, but with my work schedule it is so hard. Will water in protein do the trick if that is all I have. Please help this is depressing. I think you should know that I do crave snacks aroud noon or so some times I go for it and some times I don't. Love Stacie 342/225/180 PS 180 is my goal. I need help!!!!!!
