Question:
I was wondering if anyone who has had RNY has had long term success?

I have heard alot of stories of people who had RNY, and their success was hindered by pregnancy, but i would like to hear from people that had this done with long term success, I have 3 boys, and will not be having any more children.    — Amy B. (posted on March 24, 2000)

I am post op 2 1/2 years. I also am not having any more children My weight is still off, and I am eating quite well. All food agrees with me. I am doing very well, and would have the surgery again in a heart beat. I lost my weight in the first year. So it has stayed off for 1 1/2 years now and I still feel great. Good luck to you and I wish you success.

Hi Amy, I have Not had the surgery yet, waiting for a date. But I come from a large family, and most of us have the obesity problem. Six relatives have had the RNY. The first one had it 18 years ago! And she is STILL wearing size 8!!!! So I'm really looking forward to being thin and Healthy again. Good luck to you whatever you decide.

I had my open r n y on sept. 10th 1998. I have no regrets. I have lost 140 lbs since the surgery; and have maintained the same weight for 2 months. So now I am working out regularly because I still would like to lose 20 and get to my personal goal of 140. I would do it over again.
