Question:
What can I do to jump start weight loss again?

I will be 1 yar post-op on the 14th of October. In that year I have only lost 80 lbs. and have about another 70 to go. My problem is that I have hit a plateau for about 2 months - no losses. I have even tried a high protein low carb diet with no luck. Any helpful suggestions? Please email to [email protected]. Thanks    — Eileen H. (posted on September 28, 1999)

Besides upping your protein level, up your water intake. Are you exercising? If not, start. If so, keep it up and maybe add one more workout a week. This has always helped with my plateaus.

Exercise. Start with a 1 mile walk in the morning, then walk with small (2lb) weights in your hands, swinging and raising your arms as you walk, then advance the weight and distance as the weeks go by. No high calorie drinks or ice cream. Eat three meals a day, 1 snack in the afternoon. Eat the protein part of every meal first. Stop eating as soon as you feel full or not hungry. good luck
