Question:
Are there any aupport groups in Orlando FL?

I am seeking a support group (3 weeks post op) in the Orlando/Kissimmee/Melbourne area. My surgeon is in St. Petersburg (2+ hrs away) and it is difficult to get there for meetings. When I went in for my first post op exam, there were 5 others in various stages of the journey - and I realize that I need to be able to talk to others now.    — kathryn O. (posted on June 6, 2001)

My surgeon is in Melbourne, Florida and we have a monthly support group meeting held on the first Wednesday of each month at his office (July meeting to be held on 2nd Wednesday, July 11th due to the 4th of July being the first Wednesday). We usually have about 50 people present for the post-op meeting (6pm) and up to 125 for the pre-op meeting (7pm, immediately following post-ops). Some of us post-ops stay and help with the pre-ops, answer questions, give advice and whatever we can.....We have post-ops who have used different surgeons and anyone is most welcome to attend...I would say we have a dynamite group of people! We publish a monthly newsletter full of good stuff too. Please e-mail me if you want further info...love to have more people there!
