Question:
Anyone have problems having lap gall bladder surgery after open RNY?

I am 1 year post-op, open RNY. It looks like my gall bladder is going to have to come out. Anyone have any problems having lap surgery because of scar tissue or adhesions? Does having RNY create any issues for a general surgeon to do the gall bladder surgery? (My bariatric surgeon no longer is in practice)    — Randy L. (posted on April 14, 2002)

I had abdomial surgery in Nov 1989 then the Open RNY on May 8th, 2001. The LAP gallbladder on March 1st, 2002. No problems in having it done LAP. The only thing was they put some kind of dye in to see if any stones had moved out... and the dye would'nt pass through. But it did'nt seem to matter. The LAP gallbladder went well. In fact I also had rotator cuff surgery on my arm/shoulder during the same surgery.
