Question:
Is this realistic ?

I am 5 and 1/2 and I am down 110# is it realistic to think I can contiue to lose at least 10# per month for the next 5 months. I am starting to slow down now, but I still eat right and go to the gym 5 time a week. My big problem is getting enough water. Thanks for your advise.    — Christine A. (posted on April 24, 2003)

Congrats on the weightloss, you are going fantastic. You will probably slow down the actualy weight loss because you are gaining muscle at the gym, but you will see a difference in your measurements. I am 8 1/2 months out now and I am losing approximately 5lbs a month but I am noticing a big difference in how my clothes fit. My rolls are getting smaller and flatter so pants don't look so bad anymore. When I tell people I am 205 they are shocked, they usually say I look closer to 180. Good Luck on your journey.

I just got home from asking my nutritionist if it is reasonable to think that I will lose 56 more pounds by mid August. It is my goal to be at goal weight by my birthday. She said that it is only 3 pounds a week to hit that goal or roughly 12 pounds per month and she feels confident that I can at least be VERY close if not there. If you want to lose 50 pounds by October that is 24 weeks away and 2.08 pounds per week. You have been losing 4.58 pounds per week so far so at half that rate you will be there by October. I am a numbers junkie but can you see how broken down that way it seems so doable? Only 8-9 pounds per month! You can do it! Good Luck! AND drink your water, you will be surprised to see it coming off a little quicker!

Well I had hoped the same thing and was'nt able. However I did'nt (and still don't) feel well enough to exercise. So perhaps you can do it. But don't get disappointed if you can't.
