Question:
I'm 7months post-op and at a plateau, tell me what to do to break it?

I am too on a plateau. One that has lasted about 7 weeks!!! I asked my doctor and he says it's completely normal. He said once you get about 6 or 7 months postop, your body thinks it's "sick" and is holding onto everything that it's got. He assures me that I will break this plateau, and that I'm not at the end of my weightloss. Hope that helps!!

Well, there's not much information in your profile, but first of all make sure you are exercising, getting lots of water, following the pouch rules. Secondly, your BMI is close to the normal range, so you must be getting close to goal. As you get closer to goal, the weight loss slows and you need to fight harder for it. Finally, how long is this plateau? Do you weigh yourself daily and the scale hasn't moved in 2 days? This is not a plateau. A true plateau is if the scale and your measurements have not budged for at least a month.

I am almost a year post op and have been on a plateau for the past month. I decided to go back to 2 to 3 protein shakes a day, didn't change my food or exercise. Both of which I am normally VERY good about. Sure enough, I've lost 6 lbs in the past week and a half. WOOO HOOO. Only 29 to go til plastic surgery! Good luck to you!
