Question:
Lower energy level...any ideas???????

I am 3months post and having a hard time with my energy level going down. The mornings are the worst. I have been drinking a protein drink in the morning and taking my multi vits, but still having a hard time getting going, and then wanting to take a nap in the afternoon. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Shelly    — ShellyJ (posted on August 8, 2004)

Shelly are you getting B12 shots once a month? I am also using biotin it is good for energy and your hair skin and nails. You can get Biotin in the vitamins at Walmart, and my Dr wrote me a prescription for B12 and it cost less than $10 for about 30 doses you can give the shots yourself or take it to the Dr for a nurse to do it for you. Hope you feel better soon let me know if I can help.....Nancy

Do you get labs done at 3 months? the 3 month mark is when I started to have a decline in energy and it was due to me having low iron, so I was put on iron supplements. Check with your surgeons office, tell them about your low energy and get some lab work done!

About 3 months is when my Dr. suggests his patients start a B12 supplement for energy, in addition to their regular multi-vitamins. I noticed a big difference when I started taking mine. I haven't had any problem absorbing it in pill form, either.

Charlie C. recommended to me to try B Complex plus C from the drug store. I started them last week and wow! what a difference. She also said her surgeon recommended taking the multis in the evening instead of the morning. This is supposed to help with appetite control and it sure has helped me. Be sure to take the B complex early in the morning to kick start your day...Good Luck and let me know if this helps. Charlie and I are tracking it to see if there is real benefits or it just appears that way...
