Question:
Has anyone ever had any experience with phlebitis?

I am just over 4 wks post op {distal RNY} My legs have been killing me. Throbbing and aching. Not a problem before surgery. Even though I have increased my calcium intake it hasn't seemed to help. My surgeons' nurse called today and left a message for me to see a local Dr. and have him check for phlibitis. {I live 3 1/2 hrs away from GBS} They also called in a RX for another type of calcium. If anyone can help {as so many have done in the past} I woulg greatly appreciate it! This site is my "life-line" Thanks...Dani    — Dani J. (posted on February 11, 2000)

Dani, I advise you to visit the WebMD site. Click on Medical Library, then Medical Encyclopedia. Look up phlebitis. That will give you a link to Thrombosis, Venous. If you have any of the symptoms there, you should get to you doctor ASAP. I hope you feel better soon.

Hey Dani: I had a bout with phlebitis in one of my varicose veins right after having my 2nd baby. It was painful and warm to touch and swollen. Please do get to the doctor for treatment.--Don't wait. Good luck.
