Question:
Any Suggestion on how to get your hair to Quit Falling Out?

I am 5 1/2 months post op and have been having problems with my hair falling out! Not just alittle but every time I shower there's a big wad of hair in the drain. I have been taking all of my vitamins( 2 multi, iron, C, A&B, Zinc, E), getting in more than 64 oz of water per day and getting around 80 grams of protein per day. I also have been using the Nioxin hair process. It's not like I'm going bald or anything and I do have alot of hair but I would really get it to stop before it's noticeable. It's been going on for approx. 2 months! Thanks!    — Amy E. (posted on January 1, 2002)

You're almost done with it. Tomorrow when you wash your hair, comb it back, brush your hand sideways. See 'em? Tiny little hairs at the roots, peach fuzz. TA DA! It's coming back!

Like the previous poster said... you should pretty much be on the "end" of the hair loss journey. I too am losing hair and luckily I have very thick hair so that it isn't real noticeable... but when I take a shower and comb my hair, I have a fist full of it!!! On days when I just comb my hair I can come away with a brush full... and it does get discouraging. On a positive note, I hear more and more that for "most" people it only lasts a couple of month. I started loosing my hair at 3 months post op and am right now 4 1/2 months post. I am hoping that in the next couple of weeks I see a drastic reduction in the amount that comes out. Good luck and keep looking for the "peach fuzz"!

I'm one of those who subscribe to the "there's not a lot you can do about it" school. Both my husband and I had DS surgery, take full vitamin supplements, and about 80 - 100 grams of protein. I lost a significant amount of hair from month 3 to month 8, and then it stopped. My husband has never lost any hair (at 7 months). -Kate-

I have the answer!!! lol... I really do! The secret to not losing your hair is amino acids. I have been taking a liquid amino acid/multi-vitamin/important mineral elixer for six weeks now and not only has my hair not fallen out, it is actually growing back in and getting thicker!!!! I never would have believed it either, but I have seen too many other people use this stuff and have wonderful results! I am dancing around about this because I have worried and worried about my hair falling out after surgery... and now I don't have to!! :) The website you need is http://www.stopvieillesse.com/minerals/ingredients.htm The liquid is rasberry flavored or plain. And the rasberry tastes great mixed with a little bit of watered down juice! Save your hair! I did! Good luck!

Flax Seed Oil tables. I was having a hard time with my hair falling out. A friend doing metrobolic diet suggested I try taking Fax seed oil tablets. It worked. I take a pill a day. My hair looks great....
