Question:
Help with stopping to snack

I have lost 103 lbs in my first year. I haven't lost anything though in the last 3 months because I feel that I am snacking to much on popcorn, crackers, peanut butter, pretzels. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get a handle on this? I stay active all the time but the minute I stop I start reaching. I started taking Dexatrim at work and that has helped.    — Kim D. I know you have heard this 100 times before, but I am a snacky person as well, and I started drinking water. crystal light every time I wanted to snack. I fill up and no longer wanna snack after I drink 20oz of on of them. I now get around 120oz of fluid in a day. I am sorry if i sound like a broken record. Nancy

And my magic bullet is the protein sups. If I find my desire to eat more in control than me, I just step up the pace. I don't CARE how many beyond 180g I drink. I am NOT going to let the disease win as long as I can lift a glass of protein to my lips.

Hi, Kim. I found myself in the same boat as you recently (I've lost 127 lbs. in about 11 months, but had plateaued for about six weeks...) Pushing up the protein truly worked wonders for me. Drinking the water was helpful, but it didn't quite satisfy the same need as drinking a protein supplement does. Good luck! Sounds like you're a fellow carbaholic, like me! (Pre-surgery, I could have subsisted entirely on bagels and pasta, as long as I had some occasional chocolate as well!)

I too have become a snacker. I wasn't even a snacker when I was obese, i just ate HUGE, fatty meals. I drink the flavored walmart brand water (It has carbonation, my docotr said it was fine but some say it's a no no) The bubbles fill me up and I don't want to snack. If I MUST have something to chew, I eat string cheese at the recommendation of my doctor. Each stick has only 50 calories and 5 grams of protein. (Make sure you get the light kind. Good luck!
