Im not a doctor so I dont know what organs are located at the lower left side of a persons abdomin but is it possible that you could be having problems with your kidneys or gallbladder or even your appendix? If you are still having pain after 2 weeks and your doctor isnt doing anything I think its time for a second opinion.

I am not trying to scare you or anything. But my cousin had the same problem and went around and around with doctors and hospitals. She ended up with a twisted bowel that and gang green had set in. It almost killed her. She had her surgery in September 98. She is recovering and doing great. But don't let this thing end. Have you contacted your surgeon? Have you been able to have bowel movements? If you have a twisted bowel you will not be able to. And if you are then it might be something else. Please keep getting it checked into. It took my cousin 6 months to finally find a surgeon who diagnosed her right.

It comes and goes. Feels like someone has punched me in the stomach. I cut food back until it subsides or at least as much as I can. I spend a lot of time on toilet when pain is at its worst. Find moving better than laying down. I am not sure what the cause is but suspect someting I am eating is the cause. I wonder if something is blocking intestines causing gas pains. Exercise when not in pain seems to lessen attachs.

Dear Grace, I'm so sorry to hear you're in so much pain. I can't believe the attitude your PCP has taken. I don't know who he/she is, but I'd consider dumping him/her if I were you. Unless it's all "in your head" which I doubt very much, SOMETHING is causing the pain and a good doctor wouldn't rest until he/she found the answer and did something about it. I'll pray for relief from your pain and for guidance in helping you find a better doc.
