Question:
I went to GNC and found a 20 oz. drink called Isopure - 40 grams of protein, 0 carbs,

0 sugar and comes in several flavors. Does anyone know anything about this drink or has tried it? Is it OK for us post-ops? The guy at GNC said he thought it was for people who exercised a LOT or sports guys. Anyone have any info about this drink?    — Betty Todd (posted on May 28, 2001)

Hey - I just tried this today. Saw it at GNC in Blue-Raspberry. I loved it, even more than my favorite PurePro. This is extremely light, not sweet, no weird aftertaste or feel. I found it thirst quenching, as well as a great protein boost. The only down side is that if you let it get warm (and it's a big bottle, might want to pour some in a glass and leave the bottle in the fridge), it gets some slimey clots. The other downside is that it comes in a glass bottle, which is not great for traveling. But I will definitely be buying this one again! - Kate -

I am drinking this as I write. GNC didn't have the Blue Rasberry so I picked "icy orange" and the fruit punch. The orange isn't bad, there is that aspartame aftertaste to me. However, I can handle it and it's something different. Here in NJ I paid $3.50 for a bottle. I'm going on line looking for it cheaper.

I just found some Isopure too, I have the grape. It's ok tasting but I can only get a few swallows down before I've really had enough of it and that's pre-op. Are the other flavors just as good, or better?

I need to make a correction. I said to me it has an asartame aftertaste(I still feel that way)however, it's aspartame free, lactose free,no artificial flavors and fat free. The sweetner is sucralose. "This is the only lower calorie sweetner made from sugar"(their words not mine)

I also use ISOPURE. I get the powder though. 50 grams of protein in 2 scoops. The vanilla is ok and the chocolate is really good. They do make other flavors in the powder also, but haven't tried them. I can not eat Aspartame, allergic to it, so this has worked really well for me.
