Question:
Has anyone waited forever just to get an initial consult w a surgeon and find out you
need another surgery unrelated to WLS? I know I must follow Drs orders, which I will, but just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? I had to cancel my initial consult and I'm so bummed out! Guess it was just meant to be. — Donna S. (posted on June 6, 2003)

I had an apendectomy while waiting for my date. I was worried because I
had a slight complication and ended up in the hospital for a week instead
of overnight.
It really wasn't an issue even though it was just a couple of months before
my RNY.

Hi Donna- Why did you have to cancel your initial consult? Couldn't they
just push you back a few weeks or work with you? For most of us, the wait
between the initial consult and the WLS is quite a while, long enough to
(probably) resolve any other medical issues. Hope it all works out for
