Question:
How do I nicelt ask the surgeon to make an acception on his protocol?

I have 3rd stage liver fibrosis and my surgeon sends you home with liquid Lortab. Lortab is a drug that is filtered straight thru your liver. I asked the pharmisist what he thought and he suggested a low dose pain patch that will still filter thru the liver but the drug is also absorbed slowly thru the whole system. He could give you something else for pain. He should be aware of your liver problems and will order medicines that would be better for you than others. Talk to him and remind him of your problems and your concern about pain medicine. Mona

To tell the truth, I would have discussed my liver condition with my doctor at efvery visit just to remind him about it. If I were you, I would just call and bring the conflict to their attention. Just tell them that you are concerned about taking the drug and why. They will prolbably be glad to help you.
