It is called Gastric Bypass with the Fobi Pouch. I had the procedure done
1 1/2 years ago. It was the best thing that I ever did. I've lost 115
pounds and I can eat almost everything that I want, only small amounts of
it. I still would like to lose 25 pounds more, but I am happy wearing size
12 and 14, from a 28.

It is called the "SILASTIC RING, VERTICAL BANDED, ROUX-EN-Y GASTRIC
BYPASS". I know it is a long name but it is his own adaptation of the
VBG w/RNY that has been very sucessful even with proximal bypass. Or at
least that is what my experience with patients has shown me. Good luck !

According to Dr. Fobi's literature, which is distributed by his office, the
scientific name for the Fobi Pouch is a "vertical transected gastric
bypass with a silastic ring banded stoma". It is on page 13 of his
brochure entitled 'Obesity An Underestimated Medical Problem'.
