Question:
Has anyone had their surgery cancelled ot postponed due to high blood pressure?

My BP was elevated when I went in for surgery. I had been medicated various times in the past due to high BP, however I was not taking any prescrips for about a year or so up to my surgery for it. I WAS given something to regulate my pressure while I was still in the hospital, but they did not continue me on the meds once I left for home. The elevated BP did not affect the schedule of my surgery. Good luck! -Kim open RNY 7/17/01 -117

I was the poster child for the High BP cancelling surgery. In 1999 I was rescheduled twice because my PCP would not clear me for surgery until we got my BP down. I ended up cancelling after the third time and I am just starting over. You just have to keep working at it and have every test in the book done.
