Only 7 more pounds to go that is Awesome!! Be happy-pump up the exercise, (2 hours a day of walking is great!) maybe add some light weight training to build more muscle, since muscle burns more calories. Good Luck!

Janet, Congratulations on your success. But this surgery makes no promises about any patient reaching a specific weight. Our "goals" should be about regaining our health and our dignity. Have you lost your co-morbs? Do you feel stronger and healthier? Are you more "capable"? If so, then you should consider yourself a success. If you lose an additional 3 pounds or 10 pounds, I certainly wouldn't consider you more successful than you are now. In my eyes, this is true for everyone. Even if you end up 20 - 30 pounds from your dream weight, as long as you are no longer held in the grips of "fat", and all that goes with it (shame, lack of confidence, lack of energy, lack of health, lack of dignity, etc), you are a winner. Not to mention, this surgery would have delivered as advertised. Remember, insurance companies approve these surgeries because they allow us to once again be healthy - not so we can look more attractive. Kevin

You are so lucky that this is your first plateau. Check out my profile, I an about 15 pounds from goal and have not lost anything in months...up and down up and down. I do agree, put some weights into your workout..you'll see something happen! Congratulations on your success!

The amount of water I drink directly correlates to the amount of weight I lose. I am in your boat. I am 8 months out and 10 pounds from goal and it is slow but it can be done. I bet if you up the water you will see it move. I always think it is funny that we ask the question and put the answer in the explanation to the question. Silly :)

Your lucky that this is the first time you hit a plateau this close to your goal. I hit a MAJOR plateau that lasted 6 weeks when I was about 20 pounds from goal. Then all of a sudden my weight loss started again. However, the closer you get to your goal, the slower the process goes. Also, your body knows when your getting too thin and it seems to stop losing weight. I would love to weigh 118, but my body thinks 125 is just fine.

I will resist the temptation to tease you for mentioning that you didn't have your first until 9 months out and only 7 pounds from goal. Do you know how many post-ops out there reading your post and experiencing many, many plateaus, are green with envy and willing to trade places with you in a heartbeat? OK, nuff said. Congrats on doing so well in 9 months. You've had a great journey so far, thanks in no small part to your doing all the right things especially the exercise-good for you! 2 hours a day is alot, where do you find the time? I sincerely doubt that at 9 mo post you have finished losing and if you just keep doing what you are doing should reach your goal no problem. I had a plateau that lasted 3 months in a row (not my first, but the longest in duration), from month 13-16 post-op before I started losing again.
