You will hit plateus in your weight, make sure you're weighing yourself at the same time when ever you're weighing yourself, usually in the morning after you've gone potty, and quit looking at the scale. 1 - 5 lbs difference is at very least water weight. Measure yourself in inches.. that may help.. as long as you're losing inches (which you say you can see that) your surgery is working. Keep up your walking / exercising to help the process. Get in your protien, watch your sugars too (I know all surgeon's are different, but our's says nothing over 5 grms of sugar) Don't take any diet pills without telling your surgeon, and if you have a real concern about your eatting habbits a nutrisionist should be able to write you an exact meal plan (not a diet, but a guideline if you're really worried about what you're eating) to follow with more productive ways to fill up a pouch this size.

I use the Extreme Pure Pro protein powder too. I love it. But what I do to make it more tasty is mix it with Lemonade Crystal Lite instead of water. It gives it a sweeter taste without being overpowering. Try it, you may like it.

I am assuming your surgery was the RNY, and I certainly don't know as much about that as my own DS. BUT!! Please get your protein in. Consider tracking what you are actually eating (using dietwatch or a similar program), and do whatever you need to get in at least 60 grams of protein. I worry more about your health than a plateau of weight loss! There are lots of other protein supplements to try. I think most RNY patients need to restrict fats - so if you can't eat the corn without butter, I'd switch to another choice (how about popcorn shrimp, yeah they're fried, but you'll be getting the protein too). In my weight loss, I plateaued from about 4 weeks out, and occasionally my weight bobbled. I did have a highly malabsorptive procedure to balance out my own "freaky" metabolism. -Kate-

Well I personally know that corn is probably the worst vegetable for you. I remember you saying that you will eat a popsicle with less than 12 grams of sugar. Sugar is a KILLER. (Popsicle) brand pops come in sugar free. They taste great! Actually I love the tropical fruit ones. You can't even tell they are sugar free. Keep up the good work. Everything will come into play sooner or later.

In the time it took you to type this, you could've set up a schedule to keep track of what you have been eating. I have a few suggestions. The first being that this is not as easy for some people. For some, the weight falls off with little or no effort. For others, (such as yourself and me) the success comes from working hard at this. If you want a different result, CHANGE WHAT YOU'RE DOING. Does your surgeon have a follow-up program? If not, you need to call him/her and make an appointment -- be proactive and make your own followup. Find a nutritionist that has experience with bypass patients. It also sounds like you don't have any external support. Go to a support group meeting (I started my own). Usually there are a lot of success stories there which you can either use to make you upset, or can turn it around and learn from others' positive experiences. You can also make some good contacts and new friends so you don't feel as if you are alone. Lastly, stop taking the diet pills. You will really mess up your system with those. Instead, take the money you're spending on diet pills and go to www.vitalady.com, order some protein samples (at 1.50 a sample) and try one a day until you find something you can tolerate. Change your current behavior and attitude and your results will also change. Resolve to yourself that it will be hard as hell but that you need re-learn your eating and lifestyle habits. This is NOT easy. It won't be easy for you. Accept that, EMBRACE THAT IT WILL BE HARD. Laugh at how hard it is. Then make a plan (exercise every other day for at least 20 mins at your target heart rate, drink at least 60 grams of protein a day, drink at least 48 to 64 oz of water a day, take your vitamin supps, stop looking at the scale -- weigh monthly, pray, laugh, complain, and just do it!) Give it about 2 weeks THEN see how you FEEL. Good luck. You can do it. You have to. No one else can do it for you.
