Question:
How long after surgery can I receive Communion?

I am Catholic and will be attending Mass for the first time after surgery tomorrow. I am 11 days post op. Can I receive Communion?    — Jennett I. (posted on May 18, 2002)

Ask the priest for a small piece of host. You'll be fine.

I received Communion every day while I was in the hospital. My surgeon said it was fine. God Bless.
