Question:
Have any of you subscribed to eDiets.com?

I was wondering if eDiets.com was a worth while program. It cost a few bucks and doesn't give you much in samples of the program. It seems cool from the testimonials, but I've been psyched up and disappointed by weightloss programs in the past (haven't we all). I'm really needing some nutritional direction at this point in the weightloss game. Any input would be greatly appreciated before I whip out the credit card. Thanks folks. -Kim open RNY 7/17/01 -152    — KimBo36 (posted on March 16, 2003)

Hi there. I subscribed to it about a year before I had my RNY surgery. It seemed to be a very good program. You can tailor it to many different aspects of your "eating" life. Ie...food preferences, any dietary restrictions, convenience foods vs home cooking. My problem was that it just wasn't enough to satisfy my hunger. (I could eat and eat and eat back then.) If you like a program that tells you exactly what to eat and when to eat it....this will work for you. It is very balanced and they offer exercise along with it. Now, post-op, I'm pretty sure it would offer too many carbs. You may have to tailor it around that. If you have any specific questions, please e me.

I did it for awhile. I found it was great support wise but hey you can just as good support here. As for setting dietary guidelines for you I don't know about that. I did it for awhile and it just wasn't that great in my opinion. The food choices were healthy and balanced but they just weren't what i'd choose. The sample is really a good sample of what it is like though and you can play around with it. It also may have improved it's been a few years since I did it. However there are free places to get nutritional advice and you can work more around your own likes and dislikes or maybe Weight Watchers would be more flexible if you need a guideline not to exceed. I don't think I could eat as much food as weight watchers allows yet at 7 months post op.

I have been with eDiets since 2000...I like the support, but I don't follow the "diet" because it has way too many carbs for me. If you would like anymore information, please feel free to email me.
