Hi Cindy you haven't gave me much to go on, I tried to read your profile, but it doesn't say how much you have lost so far in the 7 mths. just what weight you started at. So I don't think I'll be too much help, as long as you are losing at least still 5-7# per mth, I think I did at that stage now I am 15 mths post op so I am now only losing around 3# a mth and right now nothing at all for the last mth, I believe you are fine! take care!

I am 5 months post op and have only lost 58 pounds and am at a plateau right now. I started at 219 and I am down to 161. I thought that I would have atleast lost 80 pounds by now. The doctor says that everyone is different and I shouldn't compare, but I am getting frustrated as well. I am doing everything I am suppose to, including exercise. So you are not alone. Just keep doing what the doc tells you and I'm sure it will all work out in the end.

I am just about 13 months post op and have only lost 90 lbs. I started out as a light weight (220 lbs, 5'0", BMI 43), therefore that may be the reason. I am now 130 lbs, 5'0", BMI 25.4. I'm not yet listed in the normal category, however I wear 7/8 jr in jeans and wear smalls in tops. My doctor had originally said I should lose 100 to 110 lbs due to my height. That would have put me at 110-120 lbs. I think that would have been too small...I'm almost 31 years old. I need a little extra meat on my bones to keep me looking young. Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that losing slow is not always a bad thing. It gives your skin time to recover and bounce back. I wish you all the best in a successful journey and hope you reach, if not surpass, your own personal goal!!!!

From another Cindy, getting frustrated does not help, it won't speed up your weight loss so why bother getting frustrated? Your profile made you sound depressed and stressed and that is not going to help with weight loss either. Everyone loses at a different rate, from the 100 pounds lost in a few months, to the plateau that can last for months. As long as you are following your pouch rules: tons of water, protein first, no drinking with or during meals, lo carb and lo or no sugar, and exercise, you'll be fine. It sounds like you may have slacked off at Curves too. To continue losing, try some cardio exercise-its the only type of exercise that boosts the metabolism and will help you burn those calories more efficiently. After all its still a calories game. Calories in = calories out.
