Question:
NEED SUPPORT FROM OTHERS-PS - ARM SURGERY QUESTION

I had my arms done 2 weeks ago today. HOw long did it take for the swelling and fluid build up to go away. My surgeon said he got it all but the swelling, especially down around my elbow makes my arms still look heavy. im probably being paranoid but it would be nice to hear from those who had the same plastic surgery. Did you have a lot of swelling in your lower arms? did it go away and how long did it take before you felt good about the way they looked? thanks in advance for taking some time to read and respond!    — Kymberly H. I have not had the arm surgery, but have had 3 other major PS's and swelling is definitely a side effect. It can take 6 months for all swelling to be gone. In 2-4 weeks usually the majority is subsided, but every one is different. I would suggest keeping your arms elevated as much as possible to help with the swelling in the lower portion. If that does not help, call the doc. Do you have them wrapped in ACE bandages at all? You may need to do this lightly, but talk with the surgeon first. I know with my legs that I had then wrapped or at least fairly snug leggings on them for a good month, as that's how they felt best. Hang in there!

I had my arms done if Dec. and a revision in April. They are still swollen in the elbow area and my PS said with excersise they will begin to look more "normal" So now I'm pumping... He removed 13 lbs from tummy and arms and I really believe 10 was from arms alone. Nice to wear normal shirts - now my boobs are too big!

I had my arms done April of last year. It took several weeks for my arms to look better. My hands and lower arms looked very swollen for a long time. My results are fantastic. Isn't great to not slap yourself when brushing your hair?

I had my arm lift 3 months ago and my fingers and hands were swollen for about a week. I wore the arm compressors for about 6 weeks and that helped reduced the swelling in my upper and lower arms alot. My arms look great. They are still numb in alot of areas and tingly in others, my doctor said that it could take a couple more months before I have full feeling in them again.
