What is the procedure for requesting the Vena Cava Filter

I am pre-op and my surgeon is the one who suggested it and mine is going in on Monday and surgery is Tuesday. I'd suggest you talk with your surgeon and he should be able to take it from there. I went through hoops to get approved by insurance for the surgery but no problem at all for the filter. I've researched it a lot too and from what I've found, you can still form clots but they will not get to the heart, lungs or brain. Good luck to you.
