Question:
Has anyone EVER stopped losing at 6 months post op?!?

Okay, I'm at my wits end. No more weigfht loss after July. Finished, none, all done!!! February 16th was my anniversary date and I expected 100 lbs to be lost. I'm still the same place I was in January. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!!!    — corpdiva2006 (posted on April 8, 2002)

I dropped to 187- started making some poor eating choices (rich, surgary drinks) around 6-7 mos. (though not large portions, nor do I graze) but was very, very sendentary. I attributed all that to my weight loss stall. The weight creeped up 5 to 10lbs. (it fluxuates) and I realized it is all my fault. Around my gallbladder removal at 1 year, and started eating much better. Now, at 1.5 years out- I am eating 150% better, AND exercising 3 x a week- still I am finding it very hard to lose a single pound. With my frame, the Doctor expected me to get to 155lbs. and I am at 190-195.... my pannus, I think, weighs a bit as well... but no more than 10lbs (my guess)....

I am 6 months Post-Op and yes, I am at a plateau. I think alot of it is my fault tho, I don't eat or drink what I should. But even when I get on the right track, I still have no weight loss. You may want to change your exercise pattern. I was told by my doctor that your body may be tired of the same old things and need something new.

I think this is an EXCELLENT QUESTION! My question is similar, so I will add it on to this string. I am at 7 months post op, and I have hit a plateau, too. It has been about 6 weeks since I lost any weight. I am trying to exercise as much as possible, am drinking a lot of water, ans still struggling with the protiens... My question to you all is: HOW LONG do these Plateaus usually last? The thought of not losing any more after 6-12 months simply does not strike me as realistic from what all the other post-ops I spoken to (and read on this site) have said about their wight loss. So, HOW LONG DOES A P. LAST? Sincerely, Susan Bresnehan. Contact me at: [email protected] or cal 203/255-2033 and leave a message and I will call back. Thank you, S.Bres.
