Question:
Is there anyone that is post-op that has Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura?

I have ITP and am looking for advice. Also would like to find any medical documentation that may link morbid obesity/risks of and ITP to help me get insurance coverage for surgery!!!!    — Christa W. (posted on April 28, 2002)

I do. You are the FIRST person on earth I've ever seen who even knows what it is, since 1980. Wow. I have the chronic, not the acute. I've only had 2 flare ups, 1980 and then again last year, briefly. The platelets dropped briefly and picked themselves back up. I'm not sure exactly how this would play into morbid obesity perhaps a hematologist could link them together? I was about 185 in 1980 and about 110 last year, so no coorelation there.
