Question:
1 day out post Tummy Tuck...how long is recovery?

My doctor says not too long, but that really doesnt give a specific time frame. I just had it done yesterday at 12:pm, and am not in much pain...on a scale I'm a 2 or 3. I can already tell the MAJOR difference...lol even with the binder on. One thing that concerns me now is that ALL the attention will now be on the lower half of my body, since I am bottom heavy, and since I opted against the lower body lift, I know I have some work to do. ANYWAY I just really wanted to now how was the pain and recovery like for all the post op tummy tuck people out there. Will I be hunched over for months or just a couple of weeks? lol    — Miko P. I was up walking the next day with no problems. I was never hunched over. I was able to go back to work after a couple of weeks (desk job). Very easy surgery and very little pain.

I wasnt 'hunched' over either. But as far as recovery time; I took off four weeks. The first two weeks I had two drains; one was taken out at week two... I guess if pressed I could have gone back to work at two weeks, but sure wouldnt have wanted to. The second drain came out at four weeks... and I was feeling just fine and returned to work. It took a while for the swelling to go down. I didnt really notice swelling; but people at work REALLY noticed my TT at about 6 months out.. maybe cause of the pants I happen to wear then, I normally wear dresses...

uhmm.;... my experience was worse than others.. I was hunched for awhile.. and at 6 weeks now, I'm working at learning to stand up straight... I'm still quite sore.. and for the last two days.. I've been very very tired and depressed... not at ALL like me. I have an area of my incision that is still not healed...and I have to pack it twice each day.. its not huge, but the size isn't important. This was NOT easy for me to recover from -- and I don't know why.. but I thought it would be a breeze. I'm still swollen in places and sometimes that gets better and then worse. The attention is... daunting sometimes..they took 11 pounds off me and I love an additional 15.. it is a dramatic difference. I went back to work at three weeks and wished I'd waited another week.. and I have a desk job. I wouldn't say I had all that much pain.. but I was really .. really tight and sore...

I am 5 weeks from a mini-tummy (for pregnancy skin not overweight), no drain put in at surgery time, and having a heck of a time with fluid; I am very active and love to exercise; I think i'll like the results (the final ones several months to see) but the fluid I need to have drained every week is depressing me. SOOOO if you're planning ANY form of tummy tuck, make sure that the surgeon realizes that if you are a very active woman, exercise and dance, that HE PUTS IN A DRAIN!!!!! Can anyone email me with support? [email protected]
