Question:
What are the symptoms?

I am three and a half months post-op from an open RNY(proximal) Afraid I might have an ulcer, what are the symptoms? I have an uncomfortable feeling where my pouch would be, that goes away when I eat. My Dr. told me to take 150mg. of Tagamat 2x's a day,and if its not better to let him know so he can order an upper GI.    — [Anonymous] (posted on October 17, 2000)

My marginal ulcer manfiested itself as nausea. Some of the others had pain in the BACK, oddly. Sometimes pain, but more often, nausea or vomiting. When they schedule your EGD (scope), not to worry, it's painless!
