Question:
Can anyone suggest a doctor in NJ?

I finally made the decision on which surgery is best for me. Now I can't find a doctor, and even one that accepts my insurance, HealthNet. I called Dr. Currian in NYC and I can't get an appointment before May! Help please, thanks!    — corkee (posted on January 19, 2003)

I used Dr. Garrison in Newark. He works out of St. Micheal's Hospital. He is an excellent surgeon and working hard to improve his post-op program. I am not sure which insurences he takes but he is listed on this site. Another good thing about this Dr. is his waiting times. I had surgery with in six weeks of my original consultation. I used Dr. Benotti in Paramus, and have been pleased with the medical treatment I have receicved. I have friends who have usd Dr. Davis and Dr. Schmidt. If you have any questions, email me, I am only a few towns away from you!!

I have healthnet and had surgery back in August by Dr. R. Capella in Ramsey. He is very nice and works with his son who is a plastic surgeon. He has many years of experience and has done thousands of open RNY's. He works out of hackensack hospital. If you have any further questions or concerns please email. :) -81 lbs 8/5

I cannot recommend highly enough Dr. Schmidt in Hackensack. He is one incredible surgeon. I hate all doctors, point blank. This man has the ability to make a person feel totally comfortable the minute he or she walks into the office. My daughter had surgery with Dr. Schmidt in November of 2001 and I had the same LAP-RNY with him on October 8, 2002. The man is a gem. His phone number is 201-646-0060. I had Dr. Daniel Davis from Advanced Laproscopic Surgery in Hackensack, NJ. He is partnered with Dr.Schmidt and Dr. Fan. He is absolutely AWESOME!!!

Dr. Goodman in Teaneck, NJ. He is absolutely WONDERFUL!!! And he ususually gets new patients in to see him within 1 month or so. If you want more info contact me. Honestly, he really is the best. He also practices out of Park Ridge and the Bronx NY
