Question:
I am 1 year out, have lost 158 pounds. I have a large hernia that is growing. I

have decided to go ahead with the tummy tuck/hernia repair since my hernia is growing although I have 20 more pounds to lose. Will I end up with sagging skin again by going ahead and having it done since I have 20 more pounds to go? I am afraid of keep waiting with the hernia growing. Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks!!    — Judy W. (posted on July 3, 2003)

Judy - congrats on your weight loss! I too am scheduled to have the tt/hernia repair and still have some weight to lose. I've lost aroun 160lbs. and still weigh right around 200 lbs., of which my Doctor's would like to see me drop another 20 lbs. When I asked my PS he said that a small amount of weight would not matter. Another concern of mine was that I'm 24 and plan on having children, which I know will stretch the skin out. I'm hoping that after children it won't be that big of a concern to me.
