Hi Debra, it looks like you were a lightweight with a BMI of 39. I am a lightweight to starting at 41 BMI. Lightweights lose at a slower pace, but don't worry, we still get there. I had my surgery 4/2/03, some times I plateau for 3 weeks, then lose. I have been averaging about 8lbs per month. If you look up lightweight and slow losers in the library you will see that we are not alone. Best wishes -

Are you exercising at all? If not, try to get in some cardio - at least 30 minutes 4-5 times per week. We "lightweights" have to work a little harder and you'll see a quicker loss if you exercise. I started out at 5'2 235 lbs and a size 22. Currently 4 and 1/2 months out and down to 162 and a size 12. I exercise faithfully at least 5 times per week.

Hi, I'm a light weight also. I'm 7 months out and have also lost 76 pounds. I keep in touch with a lot of light weights and they are all losing at the same rate. Some slightly more some less. Hope this puts your mind at ease. We will get there, just may take a little more time.

Hi, Im 6 months post-op on Monday the 25th, and i lost 70lbs. My starting weight was 260lbs and im now 190lbs. We tend to lose slower then the average wls patient. Just go with the pouch rules and drink water, eat high protein, low carb foods, and exercise, which i don't do that much of. This past week i have been on a stricty high protein food intake with less then 6grams of carbs a day, and i have lost 5lbs in 1 week. So just regroup and follow the rules, and things will be fine. I think the slower the better as far a saggy skin, just my opinion.

Are you eating ANYTHING made with white flour or white sugar? That slows me down big time.

I am a slow looser also (or so I consider myself), but my exercise physiotherapist said I am loosing all my fat and not my lean body tissue. I would rather loose the fat than the lean body tissue even if it means that I loose only a small amount in a week. I have been loosing on the average 3.5# a week and I am just at 15 wks PO.
