Question:
Saw PS about TT before pregnancy - he said that while it's not advised, it won't

cause any major problems with me or the baby. The chances for hernias increase, and are more difficult to fix if it happens. But he has had several patients who have had babies after a TT, and had no complications. Some opted for a "retuck" afterwards, but some left it as is. He said that with a weight gain of 30 pounds or so, my skin might have a little less elasticity than right after the TT, but that I would definitely not have the major redundant skin that I have right now. He also said that the muscles might splay apart again, (that's why we have such a bag of fat hanging from our stomachs right now - our muscles are severely splayed.) though, and if I wanted to "retuck", he would just go back in and sew them together again. Waiting on insurace approval - wish me luck! I know that several people recently have been wondering about this, so I thought I would post here. I'll keep you updated!    — raye (posted on October 8, 2003)

Hi Raye, my PS basically had no problem either with me having my TT done before pregnancy. In fact I was scheduled to go in tommorrow, but I had to cancel because I found out I was pregnant! Talk about irony. But I'll be going back to see him next summer after the baby is born. Hopefully my insurnace will approve me again. Good luck on you insurance approval.

I know two women who have had tt prior to getting pregnant. One had no problems the other is having major problems with the scar tissue stretching/tearing etc. Go to groups.yahoo.com and get into the pregnancy after gastric bypass groups... lots of ladies there who can help!!
