44 pounds in 3 months? WOO HOO Sweetie! It went on alot slower than that, so you are WELL ahead of the game. Don't lose faith! Just move your body and keep a positive attitude!

Hi, 8/22/03 - Open RNY down 45 lbs. know how you feel. I posted my gripe the other day and found out that I am not getting in enough protein and I increased my exercise. Check and make sure you are getting enough protein and water and we will see what happens. Good Luck and hang in there we will make it - have faith!! :)

Somewhere along the way I heard someone estimate 20 pounds the first month, then 10, then 10, and then some decreasing pounds. Or maybe it was 30, 20, 10...regardless, please be happy you are losing! Maybe you think it is too slow, but it is doubtful you could have lost that much any other way. Look at a bright side..maybe if you are losing a little more conservatively your skin will keep up with the loss. I wish you all great success.

You have to take into account at what weight you started at. If you just have 100 pounds to lose you are going to lose slower than someone that needs to lose 300 pounds. They say the first month you should lose 10% of your weight. So if you weigh 300 lbs then you will lose 30 the first month. That is how I understand it.

3 month average range of loss is 34-58 pounds. That makes you smack dab in the middle. Who told you you were losing slowly? Don't forget to do research on the rates of loss so that you are not putting yourself through unnecessary turmoil.

This is a tool. We didn't take a short amount of time to put the weight on, so it's not going to fall either. Don't be frustrated, you'll loose it when you body is ready to loose it. Some loose faster than others, but slower can be better for you body in the long run! <p> Take care!

Just read your question and the answers and I had my surgery on 6-27. So I am 4 1/4 months post op and I am currently down 44 pounds so you are a head of me. I think I am a slow loser too but you have to wait now. Thats what they tell me anyway is to wait and it will happen Good luck to you.
