Question:
Can I get this covered

I was told that my ins. would not cover if my excess skin doesn;t hang below my pubic area. I have a entertube around the top of my stomach. My lower stomach hangs but not that far. I have bc/bs and really need this. Has anyone been approved for a tt like this. also, my breast size has went from a 44 DD to a 36 d quite abit if hanging there. Does it cover that?    — LeeAnn W. I have Anthem BCBS and they will not cover my TT for the same reason you mentioned. I just got the letter last week. My husband says I don't need it; so if he can live with it, so can I.

I think the only one who can answer your question is your insurance company. They each seem to treat post-WLS plastics differently, and have different requirements about what qualifies as "medically-necessary". Based on my experience (waiting for insurance approval for plastics), find a plastic surgeon who has experience with WLS patients, and who is willing to work with insurance companies to get things covered. I had trouble finding both, but am now hoping for approval. He has experience knowing how to explain the need for the surgery in terms the insurance company listens to. Best wishes.

I was told by my first PS that my TT and breast lift wouldn't be covered. I switched PS and both were covered 100%. ALSO..remember a human reviews the these cases. Which means you can't ever compare if your insurance will cover vs someone else's. Every DR has a different opinion, personality, views things different. Each case is individual I used to do medical review and saw many things approved that you wouldn't belive, just depended on the DR and the day. Best of luck!
